Around 90 per cent of storm surge damage to boats in marinas is caused by breaking lines, which is where the innovative mooring compensators come to the rescue. Made from a long-lasting compound and designed to enhance shock absorption on mooring lines, mooring compensators provide a simple and inexpensive solution to reduce the stressful load on your vessel’s cleats, fittings and lines when the wind gets up. Available in four different sizes to accommodate lines up to 24mm, mooring compensators are extremely easy to fit. The line is simply threaded through the holes in the compensator. The compensating movement can be varied by winding the line around the compensator a different number of turns, which is a further advantage offered only by these compensators. Marine Solutions can also fit the mooring compensators to customised lines (in a variety of colours) with spliced ends.
